Caffeine is @ Mutt’s Brewery Lounge…that’s what!

It’s been 6 months, 7000+ MySpace views, dozens of shows, and more alcohol than we can measure since Caffeine played their first official show at The Madison Inn back in November ‘07 for Thanksgiving Weekend, and now were returning to the scene of the crime. We want to see you back there for our Memorial Day run this Friday and Saturday.

So who’s still wrapped up in Grand Theft Auto IV? Think it’s got the market cornered on pushing the limits of the socially acceptable in gaming?

Well how about a game filled with drug addiction, paranoia, and restless spirits of the undead? If that’s up your alley, then this might be the game for you…

If you are able to pull yourself out of Liberty City (or the endless nightmare that is “The Maze”) this Friday and Saturday, get over to Mutt’s Brewery Lounge in Trenton to rock the weekend away with Caffeine.

Here’s an open letter from Dave Grohl (from the Foo Fighters and Nirvana, maybe you’ve heard of him?), to Metallica urging them not to release new material until it is “kick-ass”.

In the letter Grohl inquires as to whether the band have completed drum parts for their new material – jokingly hinting that he has his eye on a part in the band.

The letter, posted on Blabbermouth, reads:

“Hey, it’s Dave! Remember me? Yeah, I’m the guy that’s been listening to your band faithfully since 1983. I bought your first album ‘Kill ‘Em All’ from a mail order catalogue called Under The Rainbow, I think. Actually I can’t remember. It was 1983 for Christsakes! But that album changed my life and I’ve been listening to your albums ever since (even ‘St Anger’!).

“I can’t wait to hear the new shit, and no matter what you guys do I’ll always be first one at the shop waiting to hear it. I’m sure you’ll come out and blow everybody’s fuckin’ minds, because you’re fuckin’ METALLICA!

“Good luck. And don’t release it until it’s kick-ass.

“Yours, Dave Grohl.

“P.S. Are you finished recording the drums yet?”

Now that the new season of South Park is over, we guess we’ll actually have to write things for the blog instead of just posting weekly highlights from Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Carman. And Butters. You can’t forget Butters.

It seems the calendar is conspiring against us in ‘08. First we played on March 15th, two days before St. Patrick’s Day. Then we play April 18th, two days before 4/20. Now this Saturday we’re playing Brenda’s Double Deuce on May 3rd, two days before Cinco De Mayo.

All we have to say is screw the calendar! This Saturday we’re celebrating Tres De Mayo.
